Clean indoor air in a Long Island home

Indoor Air Quality

Breathe Easier in Your Long Island Home

Pollen, mold, dust, dry winter air. We help Suffolk County homeowners take control of what they breathe at home with whole-house air purifiers, humidifiers, UV lights, and fresh-air ventilation.

Why It Matters

Long Island Air Is Working Against You

Humid summers, dry winters, salt air, and older housing stock add up to a lot of stuff floating around your home. The good news is you can do something about each of them.

Humid Summers, Hidden Mold

South Shore humidity sticks to your AC coil and drain pan. UV light and proper drainage stop mold before it spreads through your ducts.

Dry Winters, Cracked Comfort

Forced-air heat strips moisture out of the air. Indoor humidity below 25 percent means dry skin, sinus issues, and damaged hardwood.

Pollen and Fine Particles

Tree, grass, and ragweed pollen blow off the bay and through every door. A media filter or HEPA-style cleaner captures what your basic 1-inch filter misses.

Older Homes, Tighter Homes

Pre-war homes leak air all day. Newer or recently sealed homes can trap stale air and humidity. Both have a fix, and they are different fixes.

What We Install

The Right Tool for the Right Problem

Every home is different. We walk through your space, ask what is bothering you, and recommend products that solve the actual issue, not a generic package.

UV Germicidal Lights

Mounted at the indoor coil where moisture collects. Kills mold spores, bacteria, and viruses on contact. Quiet, no maintenance beyond a bulb swap every couple years.

Whole-House Humidifiers

Bypass or steam units that tie into your ductwork and hold winter humidity steady at a comfortable level. End the static, dry skin, and cracked floors that come with Long Island winters.

Whole-House Air Purifiers

Media filter cabinets and HEPA-style cleaners that capture pollen, dust, pet dander, and fine particles your standard 1-inch filter misses. Sized to your home and HVAC airflow.

ERV / HRV Ventilation

Energy and heat recovery ventilators bring fresh outdoor air into tighter, well-sealed homes without throwing away your heating or cooling. Ideal for newer construction or homes after a major air-sealing project.

Works With Your System

You Don't Need to Replace Anything

IAQ products bolt onto whatever you already have. We install on top of heat pumps, central AC, gas and oil furnaces, and ductless mini splits.

  • UV lights install at the indoor coil, regardless of system type
  • Media filters fit standard return-air cabinets and ducted systems
  • Steam humidifiers tie into your existing duct trunk and a water line
  • ERV/HRV ventilation runs on dedicated ducts, independent of your main system
  • Ductless mini splits already include built-in filtration. We can upgrade the filters

Common Questions

Indoor Air Quality FAQ

For most Long Island homes, yes. A whole-house media filter or HEPA-style air cleaner captures pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and fine particles that pass through standard 1-inch furnace filters. People with seasonal allergies, asthma, or pets are usually the ones who notice the biggest difference in the first few weeks.

UV-C germicidal lights installed at the indoor coil are effective at preventing mold and bacterial growth on the coil and drain pan, which is exactly where moisture collects in humid Long Island summers. They are not a substitute for filtration. You still need a good filter to capture particles. UV is best as a complement to a media filter, not a replacement.

Indoor relative humidity in winter should sit between 30 and 45 percent. Too low and you get static, dry skin, and cracked wood floors. Too high and you get window condensation and mold risk. A whole-house humidifier connected to your ductwork holds the level steady automatically. We size and install bypass and steam units depending on your home and water supply.

Yes, but the options change. Without ducts, the right path is usually portable or wall-mount air purifiers in the rooms that matter most, paired with a ductless mini split system that has built-in filtration. ERV/HRV ventilation can still be added through dedicated runs. We do a free walkthrough to figure out what makes sense for your layout.

Most IAQ add-ons install in a half day. A UV light or media filter cabinet usually wraps in 2 to 3 hours. A steam humidifier with new water and drain lines is closer to a full day. ERV/HRV ventilation systems are bigger jobs, typically 1 to 2 days depending on duct runs.

Most direct IAQ products do not have dedicated rebate programs the way heat pumps do. The exception is when IAQ work is bundled into a larger heat pump or efficiency upgrade. We always check current PSEG and NYSERDA programs at the time of your estimate to see if any active offers apply.
