No. This tool provides general guidance to help you understand what might be wrong and whether you can try a simple fix yourself. It is not a substitute for an in-person inspection by a licensed HVAC technician. If you smell gas, detect carbon monoxide, or feel unsafe, leave your home and call 911.

Our diagnostic fee is $89. The technician will identify the exact issue and give you a flat-rate repair price on the spot before doing any work. If you approve the repair, the $89 is applied as a credit toward the total cost.

The troubleshooter covers central air conditioners, heat pumps, gas and oil furnaces, boilers, and ductless mini split systems. It walks you through common symptoms for each system type and helps you narrow down the likely cause.
